What does it look like when God chooses you but you’re not ready?

Starting October 4th we’re exploring deep cuts from the life of David.

It's about a shepherd boy anointed for a throne he wasn’t looking for, pursued by a jealous king he refused to harm, and forced into exile while the kingdom he's meant to lead crumbles around him.

This series follows David from his anointing through the wilderness, the bloodshed, the brokenness, and finally the throne.

But David was profoundly flawed. His reign wasn't the golden age we sometimes imagine. Looking at his life forces us to ask difficult questions about ourselves.

How do we hold together his moral failures with his genuine faith? What does it mean to follow God when the people who are supposed to represent Him are broken?
